The night settled down on the Earl and his butler as they walked out into the night. It had been decided, thanks to their little mole, aka Grell, that the "ambush" would happen in a large circular opening between several houses. Sebastian followed Ciel without a sound and watched his small charge carefully. He knew he'd have another episode tonight, he could feel the weight slowly pressing on his lungs that always came before the fire and the dark. He had hoped to never be anywhere close to Ciel now that the intensity of his attack was increasing, but this could not be avoided. He only hoped that, somehow, he would not harm Ciel in his madness. The boy held himself like a king, and it lifted his concern a little. His master was not easily frightened. He was facing this threat from the supernatural realm as though it was another business meeting. It was comforting to know that Ciel would go to such lengths for his sake, that it wasn't just a one sided affection. Though, as Sebastian often reminded himself, it was probably selfish of Ciel to do this. He most likely only thought of it as a chance to take out the opponent's key piece and protect his own.
Ciel was not thinking much at all at that point. He simply wanted this night to be over. When it was, not only would he have crushed a main threat to his continued safety under his boot, he would also be able to feel secure when he knew Sebastian was out in the night. Though he hated that there were those hours of feral instinct  that took over his normally refined butler, it was somewhat nice to think that he could be safe in those moments of complete vulnerability. Ciel would not have someone as inconsequential as William T. Spears think getting in his way. They reached the courtyard of sorts, and saw Grell standing there. He looked decidedly nervous, much to the annoyance of both Ciel and William. Still, his pride as an "actress" kept him from showing his nerves in his voice, "Oh, Sebby! Could you come over here for a sec? Pleeeeeeeease?" Sebastian, as instructed, walked over as though to give Grell a good beating, but dodged the second those deadly clippers shot out of the dark. Grell quickly grabbed the shaft while Undertaker stepped forward with his own scythe, quite literally, curling around William's neck as he said, "Now now, Will, I'm not gonna let you take out one of the comic geniuses of our age." Spears, his pristine appreance not changed in the slightest said blankly, "Ah, I see. So that's where you really stand now, is it?" He tried to retract his clippers, but Grell refused to let go, sniffling pitifully as he murmured, "I'm sorry, Will, I really am." Ronald Knox, his blonde hair shining even in the dim starlight that filtered into the area, pushed his little blue lawnmower over the cobblestones and said in amazement to no one in particular, "I never thought you'd really get caught, sir. Hmm, I guess Grell was right, you really are too focused to see the big picture." William simply sniffed in annoyance while Lau and Ran Mao stepped out of the doorway they'd been lurking in, Agni following from behind a wall. The tall Indian yanked the weapon from William's hand and gave it to Grell before forcing the captive's hands behind his back. Still a good man, Agni apologized, "I am sorry, sir, but I cannot allow you to do this any longer. You are endangering Mr. Sebastian and displeasing Master Ciel and Prince Soma. Please forgive me." Will had no idea why this human was saying these things, but he changed his focus quickly when Lau brought out an acupuncture needle and said, "Now, to put this man to sleep until we get him to a more secure location, I need to have a few more of these. Ran Mao?" She held up the suitcase she'd been carrying and opened it to reveal rows of the long, wicked steel needles. Will was stuck. If he moved, Undertaker's scythe would slice his jugular vein. If he didn't, this obviously psychotic human would pierce him with his needles. A lose-lose situation.
Lau, Ran Mao, Undertaker, and Agni were put in charge of transporting the now unconscious William to another location, which Ciel had prepared especially for people like Will, who were strong and needed to be held for extended periods. Ronald Knox was put in charge of covering up his superior officer's vanishing act, so he went back to the shinigami realm to file his report. Having dispatched his orders, Ciel was happy to be down to just himself, Sebastian, and Grell. He would have liked to get rid of Grell aswell, but he thought the flamboyant freak deserved a little reward and leeway for his role in their plan. Sebastian, feeling the dark closing in fast now, quietly backed away, closer to the shadows  that would allow him to run. Grell, seeing this behavior and knowing the cause, began talking to Ciel excitedly, attempting to lead him away from his butler. There was no time left however. Sebastian felt the last of his mind slip away and the beginnings of the fall before he was gone. Grell grabbed Ciel roughly by the wrist and screamed, "Run!" as he took off with the child in tow.
Ciel's team goes into action to foil William T. Spears and his heartless plan. However, is going out into the night with a devolving demon really a smart idea?
